Moorlinch Good Neighbours Social Club

MOORLINCH GOOD NEIGHBOURS initially came about during the first Covid lockdown in 2020, when Carla Pither recognised the potential needs of vulnerable villagers.  Volunteers were recruited from the community to offer assistance to any Moorlinch Villager.  Both mental and pastoral support was a lifeline through those very difficult times. As normal  life resumed, thoughts turned to helping the village community reboot, and how better than with a party.

A Gatsby Night was organised transforming the Village Church Hall into a 1920’s themed evening. It was fantastic and definitely had the desired effect of shaking Moorlinchers out of Covid lethargy.

From the success of the Gatsby event it was decided, in early 2022, to recruit more volunteers and reform the Moorlinch Good Neighbours into the MOORLINCH GOOD NEIGHBOURS SOCIAL COMMITTEE. (MGNSC)

In mid 2022, the year of Queen Elizabeth II’s Jubilee, the MGNSC applied for and received a National Lottery Grant. The allocation was given for the purpose of helping to bring communities back together following the isolation of the Covid lock downs.

The MGNSC continues to work to bring the Moorlinch Village Community together.
